Urgent cases

If you or a loved one requires emergency dental care,
Dental pain
– Contact your dentist immediately and describe your symptoms.
– Rinse your mouth with lukewarm water and floss to remove food residue.
– You can take painkillers over the counter, but do not apply them directly to the tooth.
– If swelling occurs, apply ice or a cold compress to the painful area (never use heat).
Broken tooth or cracked
- Save the pieces of tooth.
- Rinse your mouth and the bits with lukewarm water.
- Avoid hard, hot foods if the crack is minor.
- Take painkillers and see a dentist promptly.
- In case of significant breakage, contact the dentist immediately.
- Apply a cold compress to the cheek to reduce swelling.
Tooth dislodged
- Hold the tooth by the crown, without touching the roots.
- Rinse it gently with water if it is dirty.
- Try putting it back in its socket or placing it in milk.
- Keep the tooth moist and consult a dentist promptly.
Bite of the cheeks, tongue or lips
- Apply pressure with gauze to the bleeding area.
- Use ice to reduce swelling.
- Rinse your mouth with lukewarm salt water.
- Consult a dentist in case of infection.
Object stuck between teeth
- Use dental floss to remove the object.
- Consult a dentist if necessary.
- Never use a sharp object to avoid injury.
